    I need a workout….i am 37, 5″10, 220. i don’t eat much or workout at all. i just don’t have the desire. i sit around and watch tv and type on the computer all day. i drink about 3 bottles of .5 liters of water per day and maybe eat twice a day. i rarely eat breakfast, lunch will be a big meal (mcdonalds, shake, chinese food, pizza) and i’ll be full by dinner that i most likely dont even eat. if i do then it maybe ice cream or some plums. i can’t sleep at night anymore. i am passing out at 4am

    pffff, that used to be me all the way. Except I was 215 at 6′. Now I am at 165 and I have been that way since 2004. I never did anything crazy like this, though, although I am looking into if because my colon always feels full.

    I didn’t do any fad diets, if you want to loose weight, do what I did, go two months eating just salad, no breads or meats! Eat a very few beans every once in awhile, but mostly eat lots of fruit. I lost all that weight in those two months. Comment back for more details

    If you fast/undereat your body goes to fat for fuel after the glycogen is used up in the system. You should never do an all protien or high protien fast as suggested in a comment.That can lead to organ failure/damage,dehydrate,lost lean muscle tissue.The body does not covert your fat to anything but fuel/waste when
    “eating” up the fat cells(ketosis). The brain etc runs on glucose or ketones.

    I absolutely agree the non-food detox + laxatives = asking for issue. No one should fast at home for more than 3 days without a doctor supervision.You really shouldnt even start without a check up. You could be diabetic and not know it which could be deadly to fast with diabetes. I think that fasting is great when done right. Dr. Elan Haas has great information online that really tell you all
    about this in detail.

    Any weightloss …
    Any weightloss results in muscle loss if strength training is not used.
    Even working out too much (cardio) can make you lose muscle.
    To gain back muscle after a fast you just have to wait.
    It takes time to build muscle and that will depend on your intake,
    hormones, and workout. Dont waste your money on protien shakes.
    Over eating protien will also be counter active to growing muscle.
    Count the grams of protien needed for your weight/activity level/age. Eat real food.

    If you FAST, your body will convert your proteins in your muscle to feed your brain. You can not convert fat to glucose..not possible. If you detox in a way that you take in protein and fuel your body, it may be possible to lose the fat with a workout 3-6 times per day.

    i didn’t research… but im healthy so i figured id be good… i lost 15 lbs in 5 days… it was awesome… i stopped cuz i was starving … i gained 5 back but the other 10 lbs are still gone… and i felt fine… and i saw no muscle withering either so i guess it just depends on the person… toodles!

    BTW – I agree about your view on detoxing. It is indeed dangerous and not to be taken lightly. Plus whatever benefits are likely to be temporary not permanent changes.
