colon cleansing, natural ways?

Written by admin on April 16, 2009 – 1:02 pm -

what is a natural and healthy way to do a colon cleanse? How often would i have to do it? Thanks in advance.

A high-fiber diet is the most widely used remedy for colon and stool problems. Drinking plenty of water and exercising regularly also helps a lot.

While many people want to use laxatives, some would rather settle for natural-based medications to avoid digestive irritation and other side effects. You might want to take a look at this colon fix I've seen:

will this help clean out my colon?

Written by admin on April 16, 2009 – 1:02 pm -

i would like to try an herbal one, but i'm waiting til after i come back from my vacation in 3 weeks…so for now i'm gonna try a natural. i leave for my vacation in exactly 2 weeks and i'm off from school all next week so i thought that would be a good time to do it. my plan is to drink a bottle of water mixed with lemon juice as soon as i wake up. i'll have at least 64 oz of water a day. also, i will have fruit juices (grape, orange, mango). i'm gonna try not to eat a lot of "solid" food (no meats, pastas, junk food, ect) mainly i wil try to stick to fruits, veggies, soups (lentil), jello, nuts and fiber one cereals. i was thinking of having an activia yogurt each day too but i read somewhere that dairy might interfere with cleansing…

does this sound like a good plan? if i do this for about 10 days, will i have gotten a lot of crap out of my colon?

The easiest and most enjoyable way is to drink way too much cheap beer every day for a week. There won't be ANYTHING clinging to those colon walls when you're done.

Do any of these colon cleansing pills actually work for losing weight?

Written by admin on April 16, 2009 – 1:02 pm -

Before anyone chimes in with "the only way you're going to lose weight is diet and exercise"…I know that…thank you. I am already dieting and exercising 3-4 times a week. I am just looking for something to give me that extra little boost and speed up the process, and I was wondering if any of these colon cleansing pills or acai berry or anything like that actually helps to speed weight loss.

Devon, I just got this purity 12 in and am about to start it. I'm really glad you asked this question, I want to know if it works also. It's a free trial thing so if I find out people are saying it doesn't work I can just send it back today.

What works better a colon cleanse (pills) or colon hydrotherapy?

Written by admin on April 16, 2009 – 1:02 pm -

I just wanted to know if a colon cleanse dose as a good job as a colon hydrotherapy? Does the hydrotherapy romove more stuff?

It depends on what you're trying to do it for. If you're just trying to clean out the bad stuff and help regularity, then colon cleanses are best, although the powders are usually easier so you aren't swallowing a dozen pills at a time. Colon cleanses are typically mostly fiber and herbs that encourage regularity, so they are very beneficial and safe.
If you are doing it for a colonoscopy or something where your colon needs to be REALLY clean, then hydrotherapy is the only option.

If you're wondering which is safer, that would be the colon cleanser. There are some things that should be in your colon (specifically probiotics) that an enema would wash out which could be detrimental to long-term regularity. In other words, an enema is only a short-term help and will make you more constipated if you use them too often. Fiber products would work with your body's chemistry to keep things moving normally. Good luck and I hope I helped!

Can you eat too much fiber?

Written by admin on April 16, 2009 – 1:01 pm -

Okay so I tend to eat 100% or a little less of my fiber each day. Well apparently with the foods I bought this week, I shall consume 200% or similiar, not counting fresh blueberries, granola, and almonds, and sometimes extra whole grain cereal. Is it harmful to consume this much fiber? Will be body become used to this amount of fiber and require it everyday, after 5-7 straight days? Also I was just reading about colon cleanses; will this work like a cleanse and even remove parasites (since numbers up to 85% of Americans have them).

Also I am on a dairy free diet since the doctor thinks I may be lactose intolerant (which if I am not and have symptoms when I go back in a week she will then test me for parasites and bacteria). So being dairy free for one more week, I am avoiding foods like cheese which are notorious for slowing us down, and instead mixing my veggies with pasta and lots of extra soy products this week (soymilk and soy yogurt).

Fiber's the one that doesn't technically digest, right?
It's kind of like an organic scrubber brush for your bowels. I would guess that your ability to handle more fiber all depends on the state of your kidneys and liver, and how they react to it.

The human digestive system is pretty good at handling things, I say don't worry about it unless you're over the age of 50 or under the age of 12. If pain occurs, seek medical attention.

You can also just call this one in to a hospital/nutritionist usually at no charge beyond the phone call itself. They should have a detailed explanation they can give you in as little as 5-10 minutes.

Natra Pure colon cleanse ingredients?

Written by admin on April 16, 2009 – 1:01 pm -

I can't find an ingredient list anywhere. The only thing the websites say is 'all natural' and 'safe'. These are just hype words that are not regulated to require accuracy or specific requirements for use.

Does anyone actually have a bottle and could you please list the ingredients including amounts and instructions for use?

I'm always wary when a product is hyped without listing ingredients. I have a suspicion Natra Pure contains a bunch of laxative herbs, but doesn't eliminate parasites and old mucoid fecal plaque, or restore beneficial intestinal flora. I welcome information that will prove this to be wrong.

At this point, I have only found 2 products that are true and complete colon cleanse programs.

So… anyone have a bottle with the ingredient list?

Thanks!
Thanks, Cindy, but there were no ingredients listed on that site except a mention of green tea. Ingredients you mentioned don't have anything to do with colon cleanse. Very strange. Thank you for responding.

I found the ingredients on http://natrapure.net

Theres green tea, acai, paipan, egcg, bromelain, guava extract, and white tea

Are there side effects to the colon cleanse products I'm reading about?

Written by admin on April 16, 2009 – 1:01 pm -

I've been reading about these over the counter colon cleanse powders and pills that are supposed to make you feel healthier, but I'm worried about side effects, like having to use the bathroom constantly. Has anyone out there tried products like Bromalite or Cleanse RX?

Colonic irrigation (colon cleansing) went out with high button shoes and I can't imagine why anyone thinks it is a good thing to do.

There are dangers such as mechanical injury, introduction of pathogens, and loss of electrolytes.

To feel and be healthy, eat well balanced meals containing adequate fiber, exercise, get adequate sleep, avoid ingesting and inhaling toxic substances.

What happens if while on a colon cleanse you become pregnant?

Written by admin on April 16, 2009 – 1:01 pm -

My husband and I started a colon cleanse 3 weeks ago. Everything is working as planned except Im concerned I might be pregnant.Being pregnant is not a problem except the medicine we are taking states that you shouldnt use it if you are pregnant or nursing. I have done some research on why or what will happen or could happen and havent been able to find an answer. So does anyone know what happens if I become pregnant while on a colon cleanse. Just in case Im taking Colonix by Dr Natura.

Any time you are taking medication that states it can be harmful if pregnant or nursing, is because it can cause a deformaty in your child or delay the process of growth. The best thing to do is to go to a ob/gyn or a free clinic based in a hospital in your area, and for your own saftey they can find out if your pregnant with blood work. He should also give you a recommendation on what medications are available for your pregnancy if infact there is one. But your first step would be to stop until you go to the ob/gyn. There you can get all of the help you need. Hope i helped.
